Obayashi named to a constituent of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes Asia Pacific (2011/2012)
Obayashi Corporation was named to a constituent of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes Asia Pacific (2011/2012), a worldwide Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) index.
The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes are the investment benchmarks developed jointly by Dow Jones of USA and SAM (Sustainable Asset management) of Switzerland which promotes to measure companies' sustainability. They pursue to evaluate corporate sustainability of companies through analysis of corporate economic, environmental and social performance.
DJSI Asia Pacific is a SRI index that was newly established in 2009 in order to evaluate the companies in Asia Pacific area and it consists of 156 major companies (includes 79 from Japan) selected over the area.
Obayashi seeks to contribute to realize a sustainable society through its business operation and to be a company that maintain to progress with the society in the future.
