Obayashi Group aims to be a "corporate group that continues to take on the challenge of change, driven by people and innovation," and is actively working to promote diversity and inclusion to achieve this goal.
As part of this, in April 2022, we invited Tomoko Ando, former Vice President of Nihon L'Oréal K.K., to hold a "Diversity and Inclusion Training" session for all management levels, including presidents of group companies.
During the training, the trainees spoke about the need for diversity and inclusion in corporate strategies, promoting opportunities for women, how women's empowerment is the first step in diversity and inclusion and leads to the empowerment of all employees, unconscious bias, human resource development, and other topics, drawing on their own experiences and specific examples.
Executives who participated commented, "It was very helpful to hear specific stories based on your own experiences," and "I learned about the current situation and challenges of women's empowerment, and that women's empowerment is the first step toward diversity and inclusion."
Obayashi believes that promoting diversity and inclusion requires changing the mindset of each and every employee, including management. As a foundation for this, we will continue to provide diversity and inclusion training to all levels of the company.
