Diversity & Inclusion Training for Corporate Officers

Aiming for continuously taking on the challenge of ceaseless transformation driven by talent and innovation, the Obayashi Group proactively works on the promotion of diversity and inclusion.

As part of this activity, we held Diversity & Inclusion Training with former Nihon L'Oréal K.K. Vice President Tomoko Ando for all upper management personnel including Group company presidents in April 2022.

In the training, Ms. Ando explained the necessity of diversity and inclusion in corporate strategy.
She also articulated that women’s active participation and empowerment are the first steps of a company’s approach to diversity and inclusion and lead to the empowerment of all employees.
She also explained unconscious bias and human resource development by using her own experiences and specific examples.

One participating corporate officer said the training was useful since specific stories based on Ms. Ando’s experiences were discussed. We also received a comment that the training allowed participants to understand the current situation and challenges of women’s empowerment and that women’s empowerment would be the first step in diversity and inclusion.

At Obayashi, we believe the awareness raising of every single employee including upper management is indispensable for promoting diversity and inclusion. We will continue to provide Diversity & Inclusion Training for all employees and executives as the foundation of awareness raising.
