Under clear blue skies, the first pouring ceremony for the embankment concrete was held on Friday, September 20, 2019. The first pouring ceremony is to pray for the safety of the construction work at the start of the dam embankment construction. After a speech by Mr. Fuchigami, Director of Kawakami Dam Construction Station, Japan Water Agency, and a signal to start pouring by the Construction Section Chief, the concrete was safely poured, and the ceremony ended with the singing of three chants.
The Kawakami Dam is now under construction with completion scheduled for March 2023.
