The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) are jointly developed by S&P Dow Jones LLC in the United States and Robeco SAM AG in Switzerland, which evaluates corporate sustainability from three perspectives - governance, economy, and environment - and selects companies that excel in all three areas.

The DJSI Asia Pacific is a benchmark for companies in Japan, Asia and Oceania, and this year, 161 companies (including 78 Japanese companies) are selected from among approximately 600 major companies in the region. Three companies from the Construction & Engineering industries are selected, and Obayashi Corporation is the only Japanese company selected.

Obayashi Group will promote sustainability initiatives through its business activities and strive to actively disclose information in order to achieve its own sustainability and that of "Earth, Society, and People" as set out in the Obayashi Sustainability Vision 2050.
