Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index
Jointly developed by S&P Dow Jones LLC in the United States and Robeco SAM AG in Switzerland. It evaluates the sustainability of companies in the Japan, Asia, and Oceania regions from three aspects - "governance and economy", "environment", and "society" - and selects companies that excel in all aspects.
S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index
The index is published by the S&P Dow Jones Index, one of the world's largest independent index companies, based on carbon emissions data provided by Trucost, a pioneer in environmental assessment. It focuses on the state of disclosure of environmental information and the level of carbon efficiency.
This index is one of the ESG indexes that the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF), the world's largest pension funds, reference for its ESG investments.
FTSE4Good Index Series
Published by FTSE Russell, world's leading investment calculator wholly owned by the London Stock Exchange.
Company that satisfy its ESG standards are selected for the index.
FTSE Blossom Japan Index
Published by FTSE Russell, world's leading investment calculator wholly owned by the London Stock Exchange.
Using the evaluation scheme of the FTSE4Good Japan Index, and it consists of Japanese companies with excellent ESG performance.

FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index
Published by FTSE Russell, world's leading investment calculator wholly owned by the London Stock Exchange.
Evaluated Japanese companies from three perspectives: ESG assessment in each sector, carbon intensity (greenhouse gas emissions per unit of sales), and management attitude toward corporate climate change risks and opportunities.
This index is one of the ESG indexes that the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF), the world's largest pension funds, reference for its ESG investments.
MSCI ESG Leaders Index (*1)
Published by the stock index provider MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital International), the index selects companies with excellent ESG performance from top 500 stock by market capitalization.
MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index (*1)
An ESG Composite Index based on ESG research from MSCI, which is used by more than 1,000 companies worldwide. It consists of Japanese stocks with relatively high ESG ratings in the industry.
This index is one of the ESG indexes that the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF), the world's largest pension funds, reference for its ESG investments.
MSCI NIHONKABU ESG SELECT LEADERS INDEX (*1)
Companies that excel in ESG evaluations are selected from each industry sector among the constituents of the MSCI Japan Equity IMI Index, a thumb index created by MSCI, Inc. This index is one of the ESG indexes that the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF), the world's largest pension funds, reference for its ESG investments.

CDP Climate Change 2023
The report is issued by CDP, an international non-profit organizaition based in London. CDP assesses companies and municipalities in terms of their activities and strategy toward climate change. Companies with particularly good efforts are named to the Climate Change A List. In 2023, 346 companies (of which 109 were Japanese companies) were named to the A List.
CDP SUPPLIER ENGAGEMENT LEADER 2023
Obayashi has been selected as a Supplier Engagement Leader, the highest rating in the Supplier Engagement Rating which evaluates effectiveness of corporate engagement with its suppliers on climate issues throughout the entire supply chain.
SBT(Science Based Targets)
These are greenhouse gas emission reduction targets set by companies for 5 to 15 years in the future that are consistent with the level sought by the Paris Agreement (aiming to keep the global rise in temperature to well-below 2℃ compared to before the Industrial Revolution, with aims to further constrain this warming to 1.5℃). SBT initiative is operated by the partnership of CDP, the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), World Resources Institute (WRI), and World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Obayashi group's GHG emission reduction targets approved by SBTi in October 2022.
Highest Rank of L-boshi Certification
In the L-boshi Certification, the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare certifies companies that satisfy certain criteria under the Act on Promotion of Female Participation and Advancement in the Workplace as demonstrating excellence in their promotion of women's participation and advancement.
PRIDE Index Gold Certification
Published by work with Pride in 2016, PRIDE index assesses organization's efforts associated with sexual minorities such as LGBTQ+ at workplace. Reflecting its name PRIDE, it defines indicators for five areas including Policy (action declaration), Representation (LGBTQ+ community), Inspiration (public awareness program), Development (personnel system and program), Engagement/Empowerment (social contribution and outreach). The Group has been awarded the "Gold" certification satisfying all five criteria.
Received 4.5 stars in the NIKKEI SDGs Management Survey 2024 and the Environmental Value Award in the 6th NIKKEI SDGs Management Awards
In the "NIKKEI SDGs Management Survey 2024," which evaluates companies actively engaged in "SDGs management" to solve social, economic, and environmental issues through their business operations and improve their corporate value, Obayashi received a rating of 4.5 stars.
In addition, Obayashi received the Environmental Value Award, as the first in the construction industry, at the 6th NIKKEI SDGs Management Awards in recognition of its various environment-related initiatives.
Obayashi Receives Excellence Award in the Sustainability Category of the Daiwa Internet IR Awards 2024
Daiwa Investor Relations CO., Ltd. evaluates and scores the IR websites of listed companies based on its own criteria, and awards commendations to outstanding companies. Obayashi has received an Excellence Award in the sustainability website category of the Daiwa Internet IR Awards 2024.
