Overview of the Incident
On October 4, 2024, an industrial accident occurred during extension work on a belt conveyor at "Minamikoma Tunnel No.4 (east construction area)", which was under construction by a joint venture in which the Company serves as the representative member, resulting in an injury to a subcontractor's worker (a non-lost-time accident). Subsequently, an employee of the Company assigned to the site office reported the industrial accident to the Labor Standards Inspection Office.
Although the employees involved recognized that the report submitted to the Labor Standards Inspection Office contained certain statements that differed from the actual facts, they did not correct the initial report when later requested by the Labor Standards Inspection Office to confirm the factual circumstances.
Measures to Prevent Recurrence
In response to this incident, the Company has reiterated to all employees that concealing industrial accidents (including false reporting) constitutes a criminal offense, and has once again communicated the reporting system to be followed in the event of an accident.
In addition, the Company has implemented internal training programs aimed at preventing recurrence, including its annual in‑house corporate ethics training and newly developed e‑learning programs created in response to this incident.
