Tunnel Lining Backfill Injection Method
Space Pack Method™
Injection Technology Using Single-Component Plastic Injection Materials for Tunnels
Summary
The SPACE PACK method is a method of filling voids behind tunnel linings and underground with a plastic injection material with plasticity (a characteristic that allows the material to keep its shape after pumping).
The SPACE PACK method is suitable for injection backfill of tunnel lining to ensure stability. In addition, this method does not use high cost materials or special manufacturing equipment, and the only injection equipment used is a mortar pump and a lift, enabling significant cost reductions.
Features
Economical
- Fewer and Inexpensive Materials.
- Simple Production System.
- Allows for limited injection, preventing material leakage from cracks and joints in the lining, thus reducing material loss.
Quality
- The single-component nature of this product makes it easy to visually check the quality of the injected material.
- Moderate flowability, high material separation resistance and non-leakage, non-shrinkage.
Multifunctional
- Flowability, retention time, design standard strength, etc. can be adjusted according to the specifications.
Environmental Impact
- Low carbon emission material with low cement content for a sustainable construction method.
- Minimal impact on surrounding water quality due to low dispersion.
- Hexavalent chromium and other heavy metals do not leach out.
Flexible Construction
- The production system can be selected according to the construction conditions (amount of pouring, etc.). (In-pit mixing system and out-of-pit mixing system)
- Long-distance pumping is feasible, minimizing the number of construction machinery in the tunnel.
