Renovation of the U.S.Ambassador's Residence, U.S.Embassy, Tokyo, Japan

In January 2001, the U.S. Department of State authorized the Residence of the U.S. Ambassador to Japan to be labled an important cultural asset.

The beautiful white Residence, completed in 1931, experienced its misfortunes during World War 2: February of 1942 through 1945. After the War, the building also served as a stage for historical events such as the conference between Shouwa Tenno and the Commander in Chief of the United Nations Forces, Douglas MacArthur.

It was renovated in 1995 to protect its value, and its beauty shines day or night.
