The Development of the D Runway of the Tokyo International Airport

This 2,500-meter runway is the fourth at Tokyo International Airport, Japan’s largest air gateway. Obayashi was responsible for connecting taxiways, which connect the main airport with the new runway island, embankment and reclamation work, and jacket production. The connecting taxiways are the world’s first to employ a composite jacket structure.
