Applying the URUP method which can shorten the construction period by approximately one-third of the conventional method, we constructed a tunnel that passes under a quiet residential district. This project was completed with minimum impact on the environment through such measures as reducing the volume of excavated soil by about 860 tons and CO2 emissions by about 1,270 tons.
