Organizations from more than one hundred countries have joined the council, and Japan Sustainable Building Consortium (JSBC) joins it in Japan. In each country, there are some local awards for sustainable buildings. The APNA finalists were selected among the projects recommended by each council in Asia Pacific region. In Japan, 6 projects were recommended among the winners of the Sustainable Building Awards (*3) of the Japan's Institute for Building Environment and Energy Conservation in the past.

The Asia Pacific Green Leadership Awards were started this year, and 8 projects including Techno Station were selected as finalists among the 57 nominations from 15 countries.

In the category of Leadership in Sustainable Design and Performance, 10 items such as "Taking an Intelligent Approach to Energy," "Safeguarding Water Resources," "Minimizing Waste and Maximizing Reuse," and "Promoting Health & Well-Being," were subjects of the examination.

Techno Station was evaluated as below; 1) The highest LEED Platinum certification in Japan. 2) The latest research and development facilities and the spread of reduction of the environmental load and effects being expected. 3) Reduction of carbon emissions by 55% using the cutting-edge passive design and high performance systems. 4) Improvement productivity and communication between researchers.
