Obayashi Corporation has been selected for the 2019 leading ESG indices: FTSE4Good Index Series and FTSE Blossom Japan Index, continually from the previous year.

We have also been selected for the MSCI ESG Leaders Indexes, MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index, MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN) and the S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index.

Thus, we have become the constituent of all the four indices (*1) used by Japan's Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF), one of the world's largest pension funds, as references for making its ESG investments.

Obayashi Group will continue to take measures related to ESG in its businesses and actively disclose information in order to realize a sustainable society and increase corporate value.

FTSE4Good Global Index Published by FTSE Russell, world's leading investment calculator wholly owned by the London Stock Exchange. It consists of companies that demonstrate strong ESG practices.
FTSE Blossom Japan Index Uses the evaluation scheme of the FTSE4Good Japan Index, one of the ESG Index FTSE Russell. It consists of Japanese companies that demonstrate strong ESG practices.
MSCI ESG Leaders Index Published by the stock index provider MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital International), the index selects companies from top 500 market capital that demonstrate strong ESG practice in their respective industries.
MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index An ESG Composite Index based on ESG research from MSCI, which is used by more than 1,000 companies worldwide. It consists of Japanese stocks with relatively high ESG ratings in the industry.
MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN) Comprised of Japanese companies that lead the industry in gender diversity initiatives while maintaining the ESG performance of MSCI.
S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index Selected by the S&P Dow Jones Index, one of the world's largest independent index companies, based on carbon emissions data provided by Trucost, a pioneer in environmental assessment. It focuses on the state of disclosure of environmental information and the level of carbon efficiency.
